FAQ
What kind of environments *can't* the Ninja Pole be used in?
As the Ninja Pole uses high-tension straps to secure the pole, it must have secure lash points available. Vast, empty, and hard surfaces like an empty concrete floor without lash points can't be used.
For very hard surfaces that are too difficult for the screws, stakes nailed down can be used. We have tested this and it will be offered in the near future.
Places like the beach with only extremely soft sand also cannot be used (more on that below).
Can the Ninja Pole be used on the beach?
Unfortunately not. As popular as this request may be, there is currently no outdoor, spin-capable pole suitable for beaches.
This is because certain parts will rust as water enters, and other parts, especially moving parts like the bearings can be damaged by sand.
That said, several design steps have been made to reduce the risk of water, dirt, and sand from entering critical parts.
I do dream of a future where a beach option could be viable, but the design would need to be significantly different, though we are keeping it in consideration.
Can I put this in water?
This is not something I would officially recommend for similar reasons as above.
How about on the edge of a cliff?
Please do not take unnecessary risks.
Be responsible with your safety. Even if in theory, a stable pole could be set up, there is no reason to put your safety at stake with unnecessarily risky locations.
If you choose to do so, it is at your own discretion and all risks are born by you. Both Lupit Pole and any organization associated with the Ninja Pole will not be held responsible for such choices.
Okay, but what about inside an abandoned building? Or in a public square?
Please follow all local laws and regulations. Lupit Pole and the Ninja Pole team and organizations will not be held responsible for illegal activities.
Similarly, responsibility of any damage to private property is born by the user.
I broke [item], what now?
The Ninja Pole and items itself should not easily "break". If any item has shown unusual damage from normal use, please let us know immediately.
Updates continue to be rolled out, but the Ninja Pole should be reliable with normal use.
If something the Ninja Pole was lashed to in the environment breaks, that's on the user. Please check all lash points regularly for security and reliability before use.
How long does it take to set up?
Solo, 30 minutes to 1 hour. With a friend holding the pole for you, 20-40 minutes.
A lot of time is cut down with experience; as you get used choosing a good spot, you get much faster. Mistakes in placement are quite time-consuming.
Going back and forth between lash points ie, each time you cross a river to tighten a strap, can also be time consuming.
You'll make mistakes the first few setups, but take your time to understand the procedures.
It very rarely has taken me more than an hour.
What about break down?
All that setup time is made back. Basically, 5-10 minutes is all it takes to break down the pole. Even just a few minutes is possible.
Does it spin? How well does it spin?
Yes, the Ninja Pole is fully equipped with Lupit Pole's Quick Lock system for easy and safe change between static and spin functions.
As for how well it spins? Level, and with proper tension, the Ninja Pole spins quite smoothly, though keep in mind that similar to studio poles, over-tightening is possible.
How secure is the pole?
Set up properly, it should be extremely secure. Like, the top doesn't move at all, secure.
It looks like the pole bends a lot. Is it safe?
The Ninja Pole has been designed to be lightweight and minimal. This means that the pole is generally thinner (42mm), and the wall of the pole is more flexible.
Rest assured that even if the pole bows during use, it should return to form and remain straight after use.
Your pole technique may have to adapt to a little more force absorption than you may be used to.
Can I leave the pole outside?
It is recommended that you break the pole down between uses, especially if you're in a location that rains frequently. That said, the Ninja Pole team is planning on having future "weather-options" that could change this answer.
Can I use this as my primary training pole?
I hope you can use this pole frequently, but the pole is not designed to be a primary training pole. Rather, it is meant to be an adventure pole.
There are certain design choices, such as how the joints meet, and long-term wear, as well as the powder material itself, that I would not suggest for daily training use.
It should, however, be durable if cared for properly.
I can't believe [X] happened! I thought this was well tested?
To be completely honest, I've been afraid to launch the pole for fear of all the possible situations that I did not foresee.
With each update, changes were made to reduce risks, with me personally testing the pole in as diverse and non-standard situations as possible. Every prototype, I had feedback and change requests that would fill an entire page.
Even so, I know it'll be impossible to predict everything. Some things can only be discovered with many users, environments, and time.
I hope we are offering the best experience possible and all I can ask is that the pole community is understanding, careful, and responsible with the Ninja Pole.
If there is any feedback, please reach out to me directly on Instagram and I'll do my best to make things right.
